Jason Wu for Target!
I just adore this collection. Jason Wu has created a line of clothing for Target that is fun, flirty and very wearable. And nothing in the collection is over $59.99! The collection is set to hit stores on February 5th but for a limited time only. As of March 6th, no more Jason Wu; if it even makes lasts that long. It's possible with pieces as adorable as these that it will sell out much like the madhouse of Missoni for Target. So plan your shopping list early and be prepared!

What's in my Makeup Kit??
Have you ever wondered what I pack into my Makeup Kit? Many times when I'm on a job site, someone will glance over at my makeup kit in awe at the oodles of stuff I carry. Yes, I tend to bring everything and believe me, if I could fit it, you'd find the kitchen sink in there as well. I'm one of those "what if" kind of people. I even carry an entire extra wardrobe in my car at all times...you just never know....
Here are a few selected items from my arsenal of beauty products (makeup kit)!
My choice foundation is airbrush makeup but I still carry along a supply of some other foundations. I adore Face Atelier Ultra Foundation. It's a silicone base liquid makeup and is available in a wide array of colors but can be easily customized to a perfectly matching shade for any skin tone.
I adore Yaby Cosmetics Blush Palettes. Available in two sets of shades, Inner Glow (neutrals) and Blush Out Loud (brights). The palettes are the perfect size for my kit and a little goes a long way!
My powder of choice is Invisible Difference Finishing Powder by Temptu. Virtually disappearing on the skin's surface, it creates a photo finish look by minimizing the pores without adding weight. Ideal for all skin types.
I prefer to use Make Up For Ever's Aqua Liners for both eyes and lips. They glide on smoothly and hold up under sweat, tears and water. MUFE has fantastic color choices.I prefer a powder for filling in eyebrows. Anastasia Beverly Hills makes a smudge-proof eyebrow powder that is lightweight yet provides sheer to medium coverage. It's available in five two-tone shades for maximum blending. Used with an angled brush, one can acheive precise application.
Well, that's just a few of choice items from my makeup kit. I'm always adding to it and looking for new and better products. I'll be sure to post any new products that I think may be of interest to you.

My last makeup job of 2011
Congratulations to New Year's Eve bride Jessica
Jessica after her wedding ceremony
Jessica's Makeup:
I began with a good moisturizer, follwed by Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics' Airbrush Primer. I applied OCC's airbrush foundations in a blend of Y2 & Y3 to create the perfect match for Jessica's skin tone. A touch of Luster for highlight and Bronzed to accent her cheeks. I followed with Yaby's powder blush from the Inner Glow Palette.
Jessica's eyes were done in shades of browns and golds from Yaby Cosmetics. I used Make Up For Ever's Aqua Eye Liner and False Lashes were added for drama. Her lips were lined with Make Up For Ever's Aqua Lip Liner then stained with Becca's Beach Tint in Fig. I followed with lipstick in a combination of Iced Coffee and Medallion from Face Atelier then topped off with a Artic Gold Lip Glaze.
I can't wait to see the professional photos.

What to expect from your Wedding Day Makeup Artist
Hiring a makeup artist for your wedding day should be a top priority on your list of planning. New digital cameras can reveal every detail of the skin and emphasis any imperfections. My makeup experience in the fashion and cosmetic industries lends an upper hand in creating flawless, picture perfect beauty for your photos. Don't let your makeup be an afterthought.
Jennifer Ring Photography
By selecting a makeup artist who will travel to the location of your choice, you can avoid any unnecessary driving and alleviate some of the stress from the hectic wedding day preparation. You and your bridal party can be pampered and will have the chance to relax in the last few moments before saying "I do!"James Shuler Photography
Once you've decided on your makeup artist, I strongly advise you to secure the date with the required paperwork and booking retainer. Keep in mind it's never too early to book your makeup services. My calendar fills up rather quickly and during the popular wedding months, the weekends tend to become unavailable sooner than anticipated. By returning your signed agreement and retainer, you are guaranteed your wedding date will be secured. Details Photography
Following receipt of your paperwork and retainer you will be considered "booked" and the balance of any monies due will be requested no later than the week preceding your wedding date. The day of the wedding is extremely chaotic so having your makeup services paid in advance will help minimize any stress. Bill Vodek Photography
I will also touch base with you a day or so before your wedding to confirm the time and location for the makeup services and to be sure we are on target with the photographer's timeline. I do accept all forms of communication; phone, email and text, so you can rest assured knowing you will be able to reach me with any last minute updates or changes. Bill Vodek Photography
Your makeup consultation often referred to as a "trial run" will involve approximately one to two hours and is offered at the location of your choice or my beachside makeup studio. This is your opportunity to try out different looks and styles to find out what will work perfectly for your wedding day. The consultation also provides me with knowledge of your skin's texture and tone and allows me to see which specific products will be best for you. A consultation is suggested but is not required as my work with photo shoots has given me the experience of applying makeup on the spot. KMD Creations
Since certain primers and moisturizers may not work well with my professional products, I ask that everyone please arrive with a clean face. That also means no traces of leftover eyeliner, mascara or lip color. If anyone has a specific skin condition, sensitivity or allergy, please let me know in advance of the wedding day. SM Photography
Wedding days are extremely busy and rustling everyone up to sit down to be beautified can be challenging. Cell phones are ringing, bridesmaids are texting, the florist is knocking.......Always allow more than enough time for everyone to schedule their hair and makeup. I suggest at least 40-60 minutes per person.
Jennifer Ring Photography
I am able to apply makeup either before or after the hair is styled so coordination with the hair stylist will be on an individual basis. I can recommend several competent hair stylists who will travel on location and provide outstanding services. We work in harmony with you and your bridal party to minimize the time involved and create a relaxing and fun atmosphere.
Ginger Dupre Photography
Any hair removal procedures; waxing, threading, tweezing, etc., should be done at least 2-3 days before the wedding date otherwise skin irritation and discomfort may occur with the application of makeup on those specific areas.
Amanda Tapley Photography
On the day of your wedding, be sure to eat and remember to brush your teeth prior to your time in the makeup chair. There's nothing worse than realizing you forgot to brush your teeth after being all glammed up and ready to go. Keep some drinking straws handy. Using a drinking straw can help minimize any chance of potential spoiling of your makeup or lip color until your ceremony begins. Bill Vodek Photography
I suggest wearing either a button-down shirt, bath robe or tube top so it is easier to change clothing after your makeup and hair is complete. I have seen many a bridesmaid in a t-shirt who found the only option was to be cut out of the shirt! So, please remind the girls to wear an easy-to-remove shirt. Kris Graham Photography
You may also use a pillow case to keep your makeup and hair safe while getting dressed. For gals who aren't able to step into their wedding day attire, place your arms in front of your face with your fingers stretching above your head. Keep your arms a few inches in front of your face and your hands a few inches above your head. Have your friends drop a large pillow case over both your arms and head. Scoobie's Photographic Images
Once the pillow case is situated and protecting your face and hair, your friends can begin to slide your wedding day dress over your head. By using your arms and hands to hold the pillow case away from your face and hair, there is no fear of messing your hairstyle or getting makeup on your clothing.
But the best thing to expect from your Wedding Day Makeup Artist is a quality, professional makeup application in a comfortable atmosphere!
